Hello dear friend! How are you? How has you week been? I have been exhausted for no good reason and I don’t have all too much to say. My employer announced this week that the (small, but solid) company purchased significant acreage and have plans to build cabins and create a forest retreat for employees, their friends, and family. It is such a thoughtful gesture, and it makes me feel truly grateful to have such an awesome employer.
What are your plans for the week ahead? My mom received her 2016 holiday bonus in Bitcoin and recently logged into to see significant gains, so I’ll be helping her set up her hardware wallet for long-term cold storage. I may also visit my good friend and her little one.
I hope that your weekend and the week ahead are pleasant, and that you and your loved ones continue to stay safe and healthy. Here are a few links from around the web. Feel free to share anything interesting you’ve stumbled upon in the comments.

Armed with powerful technical and financial tools, individuals will be able to launch and scale increasingly complex projects and businesses. Within two decades, we will have multiple trillion-plus dollar publicly traded entities with just one full-time employee, the founder.” Power to the Person on Not Boring, by Packy McCormick.
- On Nabokov and Cancel Culture: “Lolita makes us see with the eyes of a man who is a pedophile, a rapist and a murderer, and that’s I think the essential reason it’s escaped the harsher accusations of both the courts and the moral police in the 60 years since it’s been published… Lolita remains unassailable because it disarms you and transcends judgment. The experience of reading it, if you do actually read it, is to relinquish concern with right and wrong and just to feel things as another person feels them.” How ‘Lolita’ Escaped Obscenity Laws and Cancel Culture by Emily Mortimer.

- On Bitcoin: “Thirteen years into Bitcoin’s existence, it’s easy to believe that most of its growth is behind it. Part of this is the result of the bias we all share that causes us to imagine the current state of things as their terminal stage of development. However, when we apply critical thinking to assess where Bitcoin is in its growth trajectory, we find the opposite is true: it is still very, very early.” Am I Too Late for Bitcoin? from Croesus BTC on Swan Bitcoin.
- For Parents (and People): “Every parent wants to be a good parent. And every parent, every day, fails at that because, right now, being a good parent is literally impossible.” The good enough parent by Austin Kleon. I think this also applies to anyone just trying to show up.
- On Food Aversions: What Foods DON’T You Like? From Jenny Rosenstrach on Cup of Jo. I laughed so hard at some of the answers and was amused at the patterns, with the top aversions being cottage cheese (texture), goat cheese (too gamey), beets (tastes like dirt), onions (pungent), celery (acrid), bananas (loathing without reason), canned beans and peas (traumatic childhood memories). What foods do you hate? I can’t do cottage cheese.
Hi there! Doing good, thanks. How are you? Sorry to hear you’re low on energy, but glad to hear you’ll soon be able to retreat to mother nature to recharge. Plans are to get more sunshine and fresh air! Take care, good sister. 🙏

It’s kind of bizarre, but also really exciting… I have never before heard of an employee building a ranch for their employees, but I’ll take it! 🙂
