Web Miscellany: Compilation #43

Hello friends! How has the week found you? Mine has resembled a Jackson Pollack masterpiece in the medium of half-digested broccoli. What are you up to this weekend? My boyfriend is staying at the hospital for a few days, so I’ll likely spend my waking hours reading The Immortalists and start packing for our upcoming trip to the Pacific Northwest. Woohoo!

Hope you have a good one! Here are a few links from around the web:

  1. Thought for the day: “Society is not some grand abstraction, my friends. It’s just us. It’s the words we use, which are the thoughts we have, which determine the actions we take.” – Umair Haque
  2. Defeated vs. inspired thinking
  3. How to do nothing.
  4. An incomplete list of 30 things I learned in 30 years. My favorite is #13.

  5. 4 Ways INFJs Are Their Own Worst Enemy. I can relate.

  6. Students Invent Bacteria That Eat Plastic From The Oceans And Turn It Into Water. Excited to see this practically applied.

  7. I visited my mom this week, only to find her deeply engrossed in The Dawn Wall, a documentary about two young men who tackle a nearly impossible climb up a smooth, 3,000 ft rock face in Yosemite. It was fascinating.
  8. From the archives: Privacy Fatigue & Ditching Facebook.
  9. Signs of healing.
  10. I recently saw Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal for the first time. I’m looking forward to the prequel, coming to Netflix on August 30th.

  1. Got switched out of my Saturday shift because I filled in on Thursday, so got me a second consecutive two-day weekend! And since Mrs C is off, too, we’re gonna spend some time spring cleaning and getting the foundation dug up for the new shed we want!

We do weekends right, eh? 😉

I could probably use a more thorough reading of #3 above but what the hell, you only live once. 😁

Enjoy your trip to the great NW!

    1. Ooh, doesn’t it feel great to spend a weekend getting things done? I hope your house is squeaky clean and the foundation for your shed is well on its way. 🙂

Thank you! It’s been awhile since I’ve been on vacation, so I am excited!

    1. Thanks for the love! ❤ It's been a long week, but we're always making progress… no matter how slowly we might be moving. I anticipate lots of healing (for both of us) and good things in the near future. 🙂
